Professor Ochanomizu

Professor Ochanomizu(aka elefun, peabody, and o'shay) is a major character in the astro boy(tetsuwan atomu) series. His main role is that of a mentor to astro, who projects his beliefs of a world where all humans and robots can live peacefully together unto astro. Astro eventually adopts this as his own belief which becomes a major point in the series. He is the minister of science(succeeding Tenma) and holds a high position of power(what exactly a minister of science is has never been told. By its title it would appear to be a scientist in a high political position and in the future where Astro Boy takes place, the ministry of science could have taken the place of japan's modern government because no prime minister is seen in the entire series.).
